EDMONDS IS MECCA FOR ART LOVERS

EDMONDS, WA: Look out Pioneer Square. The Edmonds art scene is booming.

ArtistsConnect is creating exciting venues such as ARTSplash to bring the public in contact with

art. Three new galleries have joined five established venues to make downtown Edmonds a

solid destination for art lovers. And the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, a behind-the-scene

player in supporting the arts in Edmonds, continues to present a premiere art show every June.

Check out what’s happening in the art world on Edmond’s Third Thursday Art Walk, June 21,

2007, from 5 to 8 p.m. when eight galleries and more than twenty area merchants displaying

artwork roll out the red carpet.

Edmonds galleries are filling a niche where the public feels comfortable exploring the art

scene. “We’re approachable. We’re easy. We’re helping people enjoy themselves while

looking at art,” says Larry Jeffers, co-owner of Semantics Gallery (110 4th Avenue North).

Artwork in all venues changes monthly and covers the gamut – intriguing, exciting, calming,

edifying. This is art everyone can appreciate. And to top it off, parking is free throughout

downtown Edmonds.

More than 25 galleries and merchants participate in the Third Thursday Art Walk in

Edmonds,in June on the 21st. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. From the fountain at 5th Avenue and Main

Street in the center of downtown Edmonds, look for rainbow spinners outside of participating

merchants’ locations. Pick up an Art Walk map at any location. Or go to

www.kindredcircle.com/artwalk/artwalk.htm for a map, a list of participants, or an application

form for artists interested in displaying artwork. Contact Jeff Stilwell (425-776-3778) for more

information about Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk.
