DMONDS IS MECCA FOR ART LOVERSEDMONDS, WA:
Look out Pioneer Square. The Edmonds art scene is booming.ArtistsConnect is creating exciting venues such as ARTSplash to bring the public in contact with
art. Three new galleries have joined five established venues to make downtown Edmonds a
solid destination for art lovers. And the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, a behind-the-scene
player in supporting the arts in Edmonds, continues to present a premiere art show every June.
Check out whats happening in the art world on Edmonds Third Thursday Art Walk, June 21,
2007, from 5 to 8 p.m. when eight galleries and more than twenty area merchants displaying
artwork roll out the red carpet.
Edmonds galleries are filling a niche where the public feels comfortable exploring the art
scene. Were approachable. Were easy. Were helping people enjoy themselves while
looking at art, says Larry Jeffers, co-owner of Semantics Gallery (110 4th Avenue North).
Artwork in all venues changes monthly and covers the gamut intriguing, exciting, calming,
edifying. This is art everyone can appreciate. And to top it off, parking is free throughout
downtown Edmonds.
More than 25 galleries and merchants participate in the Third Thursday Art Walk in
Edmonds,in June on the 21st. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. From the fountain at 5th Avenue and Main
Street in the center of downtown Edmonds, look for rainbow spinners outside of participating
merchants locations. Pick up an Art Walk map at any location. Or go to
